Pledge for Europe’s Electric Transport Future
The future of road transport is electric. Europe must weave this future from its own thread.
One signature stands for one organisation. A logo is optional, and you can send it later. Every signature is reviewed before it appears.
E-Mobility Europe and ChargeUp Europe use these details to add your organisation to the pledge and to contact you about it. Once approved, your name, role and organisation appear publicly, along with your logo. Your email address never does. How we handle your data.
Every signature is reviewed before it joins the pledge. Yours is in the queue. One thing left: join us in Brussels on 3 November.
As policymakers advance their decision-making on the automotive package, we, business leaders from across Europe’s electric mobility ecosystem, endorse an agenda for Europe to lead in electric road transport, and pledge to help deliver it. That means keeping an ambitious and predictable electrification trajectory within the EU’s CO₂ standards; ensuring that any flexibilities remain limited and conditional; and accelerating action on demand, infrastructure, affordability, and European industrial production.
We remain concerned that weakening Europe’s direction would neither protect its industry and innovation base, nor improve its energy security. It would undermine investment, prolong our dependence on imported oil, and allow global competitors investing decisively in electrification, to extend their lead in the future of transport.
Over €200 billion of investment has been directed into Europe’s electric vehicle ecosystem so far. Companies have already built and retooled factories, produced batteries, deployed charging networks, and developed the next generation of road transport and energy systems. That investment is delivering. More than 1.2 million fully electric cars were sold in the EU in the first half of 2026, with records broken across the continent. The momentum is real, and now is the moment to accelerate.
Recent political developments have changed the context for this debate. But Europe’s central task remains the same: accelerate road transport electrification and build a competitive local ecosystem. As business leaders, we pledge to continue investing in the vehicles, batteries, charging networks, software, innovation and technologies that make electric mobility work for millions of Europeans.
To accelerate delivery, we call on Member States and EU institutions to move forward and work with all parts of the e-mobility industry on three priorities:
Keep the transition on track. Preserve a clear and ambitious electrification trajectory. Any flexibilities must not weaken the investment signal or slow the transition.
Grow the market. Make electric mobility affordable and accessible through continued market-led charging deployment as well as grid upgrades, stronger demand measures and the electrification of corporate fleets.
Build it in Europe. Scale EU production of vehicles, batteries, grid technologies, and critical components, strengthen our value chains, and turn EU demand into EU investment and jobs.
Our business leaders pledge to deliver. Now the EU and Member States must provide the clarity and conditions for Europe to take charge of its electric transport future.
